Grass seeds - the small hidden hazard

Grass seeds may seem harmless, but they can pose a serious threat to your pets' health. These tiny seeds can easily get stuck in your pets' fur, ears, eyes, nose, mouth, or skin, and cause irritation, infection, or even damage to vital organs.

Some of the signs that your pet may have a grass seed problem are:

  • Shaking or tilting the head

  • Scratching or rubbing the ears or eyes

  • Sneezing or coughing

  • Licking or biting the paws or body

  • Limping or lameness

The best way to prevent grass seed problems is to avoid walking your pet in areas with long or dry grass, especially during the summer months. You should also check your pet's fur, ears, eyes, nose, mouth, and skin regularly for any signs of grass seeds after every walk or when your cats come back from venturing outside.

Grass seeds are a hidden danger for your pets, but with some awareness and care, you can protect your furry friends from this potential hazard.
